Meet The Doctor

Dr. Mahogany Miles is a board certified periodontist. She was born and raised in East Chicago, Indiana. She earned her Bachelor's in Biology at Butler University in Indianapolis. Next, she earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated magnum cum laude. Dr. Miles completed her periodontal training at Indiana University School of Dentistry where she obtained her Certification in Periodontics, Master's Degree in Dentistry (Periodontics), and a minor in Oral Pathology. She served as chief resident during her residency and was a recipient of the prestigious Swenson Award, which is awarded to the top resident for excellence in clinical and academic performance. Dr. Miles is a published author. Her article on the “Comparative evaluation of mandibular canal visibility on cross-sectional cone-beam CT images: a retrospective study” was published in The Journal of Dentomaxillofacial Radiology.

After residency, Dr. Miles practiced in the east end of Long Island prior to moving to the Capital District. She and her husband John have two children, Isaiah and Gabrielle. Outside of spending time with her family, Dr. Miles enjoys reading, Zumba, nature walks and weight training.

Dr. Miles is very involved in organized dentistry. She is a the current president of the Third District Dental Society of NY, the local component of the New York State Dental Association and American Dental Association. She is also a member of the American Academy of Periodontology and a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Miles is committed to continuing her education. She is a member of the Troy Dental Study Club and the Spear Study Club.

Dr. Miles is committed to serving the community. She is a member of the Delta Mu Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc in which she is the current secretary. Dr. Miles is also a member of Clifton Park Center Baptist Church where she is involved in the nursery and Sunday school ministries.

Dr. Miles loves building relationships with patients. She loves improving the quality of life of her patients by successfully treating their periodontitis and replacing their missing teeth. Dr. Miles is extremely detail oriented and her passion for dentistry can be experienced at every visit. She enjoys helping people improve their overall health by enhancing their oral health.
